Sprague Community Center (SCC) is a ministry of Lee Memorial United Methodist Church that seeks to build hope through community. The SCC builds hope by providing a facility, programs and services that strengthen, encourage, and enrich the lives of men, women, children, youth, young adults, the aging, and people with disabilities. It serves over 560 families, representing some 1800 individuals, from 33 towns across Connecticut. Each of these families are registered for the weekly food distribution program held on Fridays from 2:00pm-3:00pm. The SCC serves some 50-100 families per week through this “Food Friday” program alone.
Sprague Community Center is blessed to partner with Backus Hospital and United Way. Their support has allowed the SCC to make available regular, primary medical care and fresh vegetables on our Food Fridays.
